Germany and Norway to extend naval cooperation from submarines to antisurface missiles

Germany and Norway have decided to launch a comprehensive strategic partnership for the cooperation of their naval forces. The intention is to jointly develop, procure and operate not only submarines but also antisurface missiles in both their respective navies.

The Air Mobile Protection Team (AMPT) provides protection for airplanes, helicopters, crew and passengers. The German Air Force Unit is quickly ready for use and support in case of need even in crises.


More soldiers for Mali

In future Germany is to step up its support for the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali. As of February, up to 1,000 German soldiers can be deployed within the framework of the UN mission.
