Von der Leyen Prepares to Boost Personnel

Having reversed the decline in military equipment and spending, Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen is doing the same for armed forces personnel. Speaking in Berlin, the minister said: “Today a clear message has been sent to our troops: a quarter of a century of shrinking the Bundeswehr is over”.

Reinvigorating dialogue on European security is key to rebuild trust and defuse tensions agree German Minister of Defence Ursula von der Leyen and OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier. The Minister met with the Secretary General as part of an official visit to Vienna on 3 May 2016.
