Having reversed the decline in military equipment and spending, Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen is doing the same for armed forces personnel. Speaking in Berlin, the minister said:
“Today a clear message has been sent to our troops: a quarter of a century of shrinking the Bundeswehr is over”.
