Support of the Executive Group
The Ministry's Executive Group is supported by five staffs and the Special Investigations Branch.

The Executive Staff appropriately bundles information, purposefully involves all competent agencies as well as tightly coordinates the support services.
The main task of the Policy Planning Staff is to support the executive group in long-term planning of policy on military strategy and defence by developing conceptual models and analyses.
The Press and Information Office informs the media and the public about the Bundeswehr and the security and defence policy of the Federal Republic of Germany. The head of this office is also the spokesman of the Ministry of Defence.The Organization Staff is mainly responsible for organization-specific tasks at both official seats of the Ministry and the principles of its overall organization. This includes the internal services of the Ministry of Defence.At the head of a homogenous controlling system operating at all levels of the Bundeswehr, the Executive Group Controlling Staff supplies the executive group with control-essential information about the qualitative and quantitative accomplishment of missions and tasks within the Defence Ministry, enriched by recommendations for follow-up activities as necessary.
