The Air Power Development Strategy is a document issued by the Federal Ministry of Defence (FMoD). It supplements the Aviation Strategy of the Federal Government in the field of military aviation.

Bundeswehr's KFOR Mission: Fewer soldiers in Kosovo

German soldiers are to continue to serve in Kosovo, the Cabinet has decided. The mandate of the Kosovo Force, KFOR, is to be extended. Since the situation in the country is developing positively, however, the ceiling on German troops is to be reduced to 1,350.

  • History of the Federal Ministry of Defence

    The so-called Amt Blank became the Federal Ministry of Defence on 7 June 1955. Shortly before this date, the Federal Republic of Germany had acceded to NATO. The Federal Ministry of Defence is thus one of the younger ministries of the Federal Government. It can nevertheless look back on a very eventful history.
